Nicole

Nicole is a classically trained pianist. She has been playing piano for over twenty years and has been teaching for the last fourteen. Over the years, Nicole has performed in numerous recitals, weddings, and collaborative events. As a student, she consistently received superior ratings in various competitions including State and District, MAMA, Federation, and local Sonatina/Sonata Competitions. In 2002, Nicole began studying under the world renowned concert pianist Dr. Jennifer Lim-Judd. She received her BFA from Webster University in St. Louis in 2009, with an emphasis in music composition, drawing, and painting. Last August she moved to the Twin Cities area to pursue her MFA in fine art animation at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Combing her love for art and music, Nicole composes and performs the score for each of her animations.

As a traditional teacher, Nicole puts a strong emphasis on the classics, technique, and theory. This builds a strong foundation that provides her students with the skills to take on any genre or instrument that they choose. Throughout the year, Nicole encourages her students to perform in small ensembles and recitals. Music is a passion that feeds the soul. Though it takes a lot of hard work, it is also a ton of fun!
