Jason
Jason began playing guitar when he was 12 years old. He studied with one instructor until going to Berklee College of Music in 2005. While attending Berklee, Jason studied with Sheryl Bailey, John Wilkins, Richie Hart and Julian Kasper. Jason received a BA in Guitar Performance from Berklee in May 2008.
After graduation, Jason moved westward to Los Angeles, California. He worked as a guitarist and bass player for the ten-piece funk/jazz band, Mason. As a band they played many famous venues such as, “The Whiskey Ago Go,” “ The Viper Room,” and “The Mint.” He also spent some time working as a studio musician for various artists in genres such as Rock, R&B, Jazz, Blues and Brazilian music.
Jason has been teaching guitar and bass for three years now. He worked at Summit Music Studios in Manchester Connecticut, teaching children ages 4 and up. He specializes in teaching Jazz, Blues, Rock, Folk, Songwriting and Theory (both jazz and classical). Jason finds the most success by adapting his lessons to meet the needs of each individual student. By working at a comfortable pace for students, more work gets done and students have more fun.
