Chris

After starting guitar lessons at the age of eight, Chris received his Bachelor of Music degree majoring in Guitar Performance from Wichita State University. He went on to study guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston where he completed his Diploma in guitar, composition and arranging while teaching individual students in the Boston area. After attending Berklee Chris was awarded a full scholarship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He completed his Master’s Degree in Studio Guitar with full honors.

While at USC Chris taught undergraduate individual and class guitar students as well as guitar ensembles. After leaving USC he became the head of the commercial guitar department at California State University Dominguez Hills in the Los Angeles area. Along the way he picked up experience teaching and performing various other instruments including bass and mandolin. While living in the Los Angeles area he gained an impressive list of recording and touring credits.

Chris brings over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, both teaching and performing, to the Minnesota area. He is also currently active in the music and film industry and continues to consultant for organizations such as Minnesota Public Radio, Video Games Live, and the American Federation of Musicians.

Chris loves to teach and emphasizes the importance of learning correct fundamentals while motivating and encouraging the students growth through their own individual tastes, making guitar lessons both fun and rewarding.
